We Are Millions — Art, Blockchain and NFTs Day — Recap
A new week brings new opportunities to engage in exciting topics at the We Are Millions Hackathon (WAM) and Festival. The week started off strong with the “Art, blockchain and NFTs Day”. The talks centred around permanence in the age of the digital and whether blockchain is actually changing anything in the art world or is just reviving old themes.
You’ll find a short recap of each talk from the “Art, blockchain and NFTs Day” below, along with corresponding time-stamped videos.
Don’t forget, registrations are open throughout the event at the WAM official website. You can register at any time and join lively off-stage interaction on Fair Data Society’s Discord server.

Art & locational identities
Stina Gustafsson and Egor Kraft journeyed on a deep discussion about the changing definitions of static public art as it moves into the digital. In light of this transition, they also touched upon the importance of content curation and the role of blockchain, in particular the role of communities organised into DAOs and using the blockchain as an immutable source of information.
Art, blockchain and NFTs
In this exclusive panel (audio-only, no recording) the legends of digital art sat together and talked. The topic revolved around the change NFTs are bringing into the art space, how they have ignited interest in art in new crowds and how some of the themes they are based on are not that new. The panel featured Kevin McCoy, Vuk Ćosić, Domenico Quaranta and Tamas Banovich.
Hopefully, you got to enjoy this great opportunity.
